Ashley Kahler

Northwest ISD
Assistant Principal
Medlin Middle School
My name is Ashley Kahler and I’m a proud educator! I joined the Northwest ISD family in 2010 with the hopes of growing my own family in this community one day. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our two beautiful daughters.
I’m currently the Assistant Principal at Medlin MS. I get the opportunity to work with an awesome group of 6th graders every day! Before I became an administrator, I was the director of bands at Tidwell Middle School for 10 years. I'm a proud TCU Horned Frog with a Music Education degree and I completed my Masters in Educational Administration from Concordia University.
I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn how to change the world for the better in whatever path they choose to do so. As educators, we must wake up every day, roll up our sleeves, and choose to be in the “kid business.” I’m here for kids.
I'm passionate about collaborating with educators as we learn best through others. I'm a bit nerdy about goal setting with students/colleagues and progress monitoring totally changed my perspective in the classroom. I'd love to talk with you about these topics!
Currently, I’m using my position as an assistant principal as a vehicle to teach “life” and help students see a better version of their self. Through many leadership opportunities set before me in Northwest ISD, I have been able to grow as an educator. I’m excited about the possibilities ahead to impact students through different avenues. I’ll forever be on the search for those students that need an educator to be “in their corner.” And while, my hopes will be to change their lives for the better, I’m sure in the end it will be the other way around; and they will have changed me.
